Why Hart Taxis are investing in EVs
Hart Taxis is a family- run business based right on the Hampshire / Surrey / Berkshire borders at Fleet, and we employ over 100 local drivers. We really like where we live, and we’re passionate about serving our local community to the highest standards – and that includes protecting our local environment too.
Thanks to our continued investment in all-electric vehicles, we have the largest electric taxi fleet in North Hampshire. Their zero harmful emissions protects local environment. Our electric vehicles reduced our CO2 emissions by over 150 tonnes in 2024.

We have invested in a state-of-the-art IT tracking and booking system for our taxis. It’s cost-effective, energy efficient and ensures we can provide more journeys with more customers, AND reduces their environmental impact considerably too. By reducing dead miles (when drivers return home with an empty vehicles) we also lower the overall emissions per person per journey.
Leading by example
Going green doesn’t cheap, but the environmental benefits are huge. We have:

Every existing fossil fuel car we replace with an EV (electric vehicle) cuts our tailpipe emissions to zero every time it’s driven. Every journey in one of our EVs also reduces its initial manufacturing carbon footprint, compared with using petrol or diesel vehicles. So the ultimate goal is an all-electric fleet, in use all day every day, inspiring carbon-free travel across our community and beyond.
Our drivers love our EV vehicles too, and not just because it means they can leave their own more polluting car at home on the drive. Driving an all-electric vehicle gives drivers a personal, daily experience of our zero-carbon future in action. Every time a driver uses a vehicle pool EV, and loves it, they are more likely to buy one for themselves.
